If I have two twin mattress on top of each other on my bed, what size of bed textiles should I buy? Queen?
In my bed I have two twin mattresses piled on top of each other. The actual bed covers im using are twin bed covers, but they are way to small to cover both matresses form the sides (the bottom matress shows). Im going to buy new bed textiles for christmas so I wanted to know what size (queen?) should i get so that both mattresses can be covered.
Two mattresses are not the same thing as a mattress and a box spring. I hope you have a board below the mattresses or better yet a box spring or you will be in for trouble. The springs need to be supported or they will start to sag and end up falling apart and poking through the lining of the mattress. And into to you. Unless it is a short term emergency situation don’t do it.
I used to sell mattresses. I have seen them made and have a lot of training in why they do what they do and how. And my mother once did what you are talking about and asked me to sleep there for a night. I was totally uncomfortable. And I am not a princess.
That all said: I would get two flat double sized sheets and use them. This way they will cover the area but not be too small or too large. A twin bed is 39 inches wide. A double bed is 54 wide. If the sides of the twin mattresses are more than 7 inches get a queen sized sheet.
